How youth can create their own MyScouts account to complete online learning for their Youth Offer of Service at a major event
In order to submit an application for a Youth Offer of Service youth need to be able to access their MyScouts account independently so they are able to complete Scouting Fundamentals and Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders.
Please note: Youth need to be 'active' in a participant role in order to access online learning.
To do this:
Step 1: The parent/guardian logins to their MyScouts account.
Step 2: Navigate to the Youth members Profile. To do this, Click on the “My Family” Tab, then click on the Youth members Name.
Step 3: Update the 'Contact Email Address' on the Youth members Profile to a new email address that is not currently in use for a MyScouts account.
While on the Youth Members Profile, Under the Member Options heading on the left side of the page,
select Contact Info, scroll down to find email address, and update it to be the Youth's email address. This email address cannot be an email address already in use in MyScouts.
The email address entered here, is the email address the Youth will use to access their account independently.
Step 4: The parent/guardian logs out of their MyScouts account.
Step 5: Guide youth to login to MyScouts using the new email address using the that was just added.
After filling in the email address, Select “I forgot my password” to have a 1 time password link emailed to the youth's address so they may login and create a password, the instructions will be in the email.
Step 6: Access the David Huestis Learning Centre in MyScouts to complete Scouting Fundamentals and Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders
