🚀 New MyScouts Feature: Confirm Youth Participation with Parents
We’re excited to introduce an upcoming new MyScouts feature designed to help Groups better understand whether youth participants are still planning to attend.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0AiNKRhyuq0
Â
From the Participant Roster, Group Commissioners and Group Registrars can now send a quick attendance check to parents directly through MyScouts.

What parents can do
Parents can respond straight from the email to:
- âś… Confirm their child is still interested
- ❌ Indicate they are no longer interested
- 🚪 Remove their child from the program (login required)

Why this matters
This helps Groups:
- Plan more effectively
- Reduce inactive youth holding spots without having to submit a support request
- Navigate renewal and transition periods with clearer information
The decision always remains with parents, and safeguards are in place to prevent repeated or accidental actions.
Thank you for everything you do to support Scouting in your communities đź’™

@Natasha - great feedback! The intent of option 2 was to allow parents to say 'not interested right now' and enable Groups to keep following up. Based on your feedback and some internal discussion, we'll be simplifying things so that there's only the two options (interested or not). Parents wouldn't be eligible for a refund anyways when this will be used.
What is the difference between options 2 and 3? If a parent is not interested but selects option 2, will they just stay on the roster holding a space, or will they have the option to submit a refund? Having the two options being virtually the same with different outcomes is likely to cause confusion. Perhaps we can change option 2 to not interested but want a refund and send them to the refund form. That way, it is up to the reg team to determine if they qualify. We can leave the third option the same as not interested, without a refund, so auto removal. Or alternatively, only have 2 options. Either stay or removal.Â
