We’re excited to share a new improvement coming to MyScouts! 🎉

Starting this December, Group Commissioners (GCs) and Group Registrars (GRs) will be able to manage section waitlists directly!

 

🔍 What’s Changing?

Currently, only Council Registrars and CK3 members can remove youth from section waitlists. With this update, GCs and GRs will have the same ability, plus safeguards to keep everything transparent. 🔐

 

📌What’s Changing?

  • ✅ New Permissions: GCs and GRs can remove youth from section waitlists in MyScouts.
  • 📝 Reason Required: When removing a youth, you’ll see a second pop-up asking you to select a reason:
    • No Longer Interested
    • No Response from Family
    • Moved Out of Area
    • Joined Another Group
    • Age Not Eligible
    • Duplicate Entry
    • Medical/Inclusion Needs Unmet
    • Parent Request for Removal
  • 📧 Parent Notification: After removal, an automated email will be sent to the parent with the reason.
  • 📂 Audit Trail: All actions and reasons will be logged for accountability. 

💡 Why this matters

This update empowers local volunteers to:

  • ⚡ Respond quickly to families awaiting placement.
  • 🔄 Keep waitlists accurate between semi-annual reminder campaigns.
  • 🛠 Reduce administrative bottlenecks while maintaining transparency.

  • 🚀 Production Release: December 2025 (after all adjustments are complete).
