We’re excited to share enhancements to the MyScouts experience that make registration clearer and faster for families: instant waitlist visibility right after you sign in, the ability to accept a waitlist invite directly in Join Scouts (no email link required), a clearer fee breakdown in the Group Locator, and a new confirmation email when you add a child to a waitlist.

 

📊 Know Where You Stand (New waitlist status pop‑up)

After logging in to Join Scouts, families will see a pop‑up that shows which children are on a waitlist, their exact position, and the specific groups they’re queued for. If a waitlist invitation has been issued, that will be surfaced too. No more digging for links in your inbox!

✅ Accept Invites Right in Join Scouts (No email link needed)

From the My Family page, parents/guardians can now accept or decline a waitlist invitation directly within Join Scouts. You no longer need to find a unique link in your inbox—manage it on the spot, or simply come back later if you’re not ready to decide.

💳 Clear Fees Up Front in the Group Locator

We’ve added fee transparency to the Group Locator so families can see a breakdown of the National fee and the Group fee before they commit, helping them compare options and plan with confidence.

✉️ Immediate Confirmation When You Join a Waitlist

As soon as a child is placed on a waitlist, families will receive a confirmation email indicating that the youth has been added and which section they’re waiting for, so there’s a clear paper trail from the start.


How it Works

  1. Sign in to Join Scouts, the registration side of MyScouts. If any child is on a waitlist, a pop‑up announces their current position and whether they’ve received an invite. 
  2. Go to My Family. See each youth’s waitlist status, including whether an invitation has been sent. Accept or decline right there, no email link required.
  3. Browse groups with fee clarity. When searching in the Group Locator, you’ll see a clear breakdown of National vs Group fees up front. 
  4. Get confirmation instantly. If you add a child to a waitlist, you’ll receive a confirmation email with the section details.

Why This Matters

  • Less friction. Key actions (accept/decline invites) now live where families already are — inside the registration portal — reducing lost emails and time‑to‑register.
  • More transparency. Live waitlist position and fee breakdowns help families make informed choices quickly.
  • Fewer support tickets. Immediate waitlist confirmation emails and self‑serve flows mean fewer “did you get my invite?” or “what are the fees?” questions.
