As we look ahead to shaping the future of MyScouts, we want your ideas, insights, and feedback. Whether you’re a seasoned Scouter, a Group Commissioner, a new parent navigating the system for the first time, or anyone in between, we want to hear from you!

💡 What we’re looking for:

  • New feature suggestions: What’s missing? What would make your life easier?

  • Improvements to existing features: What needs a tune-up?

  • Pain points: What’s frustrating or confusing?

  • Nice-to-haves: Not mission-critical, but would be super helpful.

  • What the suggestion is (e.g., “Add the number of people on waitlist to the group locator”)

  • Why it would help (e.g., “Makes it easier for parents to make informed decisions about which Group to select”)

  • Who it benefits (e.g., “Parents, volunteers, and youth”)

No idea is too big or too small. Even if it’s just a “what if…” thought. We want to hear it!

  • With the new Waitlist placement update, can the youth's current placement be shown directly on the My family Tab in the Parent's main dashboard in myscouts?

    Currently it just says Waitlisted - but it would be helpful if it listed which groups they are waitlisted with and their place on those lists - with a maximum of two waitlists per youth, this won't create as much of a cluttered dashboard as it would with unlimited waitlists. 

    This would help parents check in to make informed decisions for their budgets and expectations of when a spot might open. It would also reduce the likelihood of a parent missing their invite if they are aware they are reaching the top of the list.

    Secondly, when a parent doesn't notice the feature, and writes in to the help centre, it would help us respond much faster since we would no longer have to guess or dig so deeply to find out which groups to check and count.

    Related, but a little more 'out there' and less important:
    Would there be benefit to having a field in the Org Details or somewhere, where a Contact Scouter/Registrar could enter a date of next expected space opening? I picture in my Group, we KNOW that no spaces will open until September many months in advance. But we also know when someone is onboarding that spots may open up in 4-6 weeks. If there was an option for Groups to be able to indicate IF they can give insight, without locking them into having to do so this could help parents plan ahead too.

  • During our GC call this week, a couple of Group Commissioners asked about the new MyScouts layout with the menu on the left-hand side. Specifically, they were wondering if it would be possible to have that same menu visible when viewing a youth or volunteer profile - so they do not have to navigate back to the group page each time before moving to another profile. Thanks so much!

  • On the Group dashboard it gives the number of youth registered (pending), but it would be great if it could include the number waitlisted. We have to dive into each section to see if they actually have a wait list and then have to manually count the people on the wait list to figure out how many there are. When we are trying to do a quick report for Group Committee to talk about future progression planning, having to count out each section is a bit of a pain, especially when you have a lot of sections and multiple of a section within a Group

    Would also be nice to see on the wait list if people are multi listed. We had a lot wait listed last year and they disappeared the first day of public because they were listed elsewhere as their preferred and got in there first. So we really didn't have as many that were wanting into our Group as it seemed by the long wait list we had before public registration, in the end maybe only 1/4 to 1/3 actually joined our Group but when you look at the reports, they are all registered this year.

  • I submitted this enhancement request 10 years ago.  I still think it's a good suggestion.  

    Ticket # 252273 Enhancement Request: Bulk Print membership card

    It would be nice to welcome members and present them with their membership card.  It's a small and inexpensive thing but it indicates they belong to a community.

  • It would be helpful to show an error message if a parent registers a child as a adult, or maybe  the group registrar could go into MYScouts  and correct the error, instead of waiting 2.5 weeks in my case as Group Registrar to get the issue resolved.
