Introduction

Introduced May 2nd 2016, it is possible for a parent to wait list a child in Myscouts.ca through the Find A Group feature. This article will provide details on how this function works in Myscouts.ca.

How to use the wait list function

When a parent identifies a section in a Group that they wish to register but the section is full according to the vacancy messaging on Find a Group, the parent can select the Contact button.

Find A Group Capacity message:

Select Contact:

If a section has a potential member wait listed a new ‘Wait List’ tab will appear in the section profile that lists all potentials members wait listed in the section

Additional Notes

  • It is up to the Group to administer the wait list by contacting the individual submitting the wait list and to remove individuals from the list accordingly.
  • If a spot in the section opens up the group can register the member. If the parent wants to self-register their child the group must contact the parent and ensure there is capacity in Myscouts so the parent can register.  There is no logic in Myscouts where the group can open a self- registration to only selected member(s) on the wait list.
