These are some commonly asked questions for parents new to Scouting.
The Scouting year officially runs from September 1st to August 31st .
Most Scouts group run their program parallel to the academic year, starting in September and ending in May or June.
In July and August, many Scouts participate in summer activities that are organized by their local Council office.
The primary method for registering is online through the myscouts.ca site.
If you see ‘‘sign in to register” and ‘create an account’ next to the group’s information on 'Find a Group', this means you will be able to register your child with the group online via credit card or Interac.

You may also be able to register by paper, and pay by cash or cheque directly with the group
Yes! We generally allow two visits for a child before asking parents to commit and register their child with the group. If you would like to do this please contact the group through Find a Group to arrange.
