Youth membership registration fee information for 2019/2020

  1. The National Fee
  2. Group Fees
  3. Subsidies

This article lays out general information about the cost for the youth membership registration fee for Scouts Canada for the 2019/2020 Scouting year.

Scouts Canada divides its fees into two portions, the National Registration Fee, and a Group Fee.

The National Fee

The National Fee is $230 per year per child from June 30th 2019 - January 1st 2020. The National Fee has been reduced to $180 as of January 1, 2020 for the remainder of the Scouting year.

For a comprehensive breakdown of the National Fee see The Value of Scouting.

The Group Fee

Groups can levy an additional fee on top of the National Fee if their program's costs are higher (i.e. rental fee's for regular meeting space or program materials). Group fees can include books, dues, etc...

Uniforms are available in the Scout Shop, the Scout Shop is able to ship across Canada.

Scouts Canada offers a subsidy for fees through the No One Left Behind subsidy program, to families where financial barriers exist. The goal is to ensure more Canadian youth have access to fun and safe Scouting adventures. The application for No One Left Behind has been incorporated into the registration process, approval is immediately determined and your fee is automatically adjusted.

The No One Left Behind Participation Subsidy  is also available in addition to the subsidy for fees for families with financial barriers. This aspect of No One Left Behind is a subsidy for uniforms, equipment, program materials etc.

Please speak with your Group Commissioner to request that an application is submitted on your behalf.
