Introduction

This article outlines how you retrieve a receipt for your youth's Scouting membership which can be included in your tax return as part of the Children's Fitness Tax Credit

If you've paid for your child's registration online using myscouts.ca

Upon completing an online self-registration, the system will issue an electronic tax receipt which you can use for the Children's Fitness Tax Credit in your tax return. This receipt will also be retrievable at any time by logging into your myscouts account.

To retrieve the receipt you can log into myscouts and select the 'reprint receipt' option. If you have issues logging in to myscouts, or do not see the correct receipt when accessing this receipt area, please contact the Help Centre at helpcentre@scouts.ca

If you've paid for your child's registration in cash or cheque directly to the Group,

You will need to contact the Group Registrar, Group Treasurer, or the Group Commissioner at your Group to request a receipt. If you do not know how to contact these volunteers, you can contact the Scouts Canada Help Centre.

Important Changes for 2017

As of 2017, the Children's Fitness Tax Credit will no longer be offered by the Canada Revenue Agency. Any registrations completed as of January 1st 2017 will not be eligible for this credit and a tax receipt is not required. For more information please visit this article.
