The Canadian Path introduced new Top Section Awards so that youth in every Section have a cumulative award (like the Chief Scout’s Award) to work towards. In the spirit of youth-led Scouting, Section Leadership Teams have been tasked with approving Top Section Awards for their Sections. As part of this new Group-centric approach to Top Section Awards, MyScouts.ca will be updated to allow Group Commissioners and Group Registrars to add Top Section Award records to youth’s profiles.
This article has documentation on the full process attached, and also focuses on the administrative aspect of this process for Group Registrars and Group Commissioners.

As part of the Top Section Award process, once a youth has been awarded the Top Section Award the Group Registrar and/or Commissioner will be notified by a section Scouter.
Following this, the Group Registrar or Commissioner can add this recognition to a youth's MyScouts profile
To complete this, the Group Commissioner or Registrar can:
- Access the youth's profile page in MyScouts either through the 'Find an Individual' search or by finding the youth in the applicable section roster.
- Click on the 'add recognition' option:
- Search for the applicable award (see the reference guide below for a quick outline of which Top Section Award is named for each section)
- Add the recognition date and 'save'. The award is now added to the youth's profile!
